This morning Roger was asking me if I had any ideas of someone we could ask to donate about $6,000 to get a heat pump installed in Miller Hall. It would have to be someone with money to give, and someone with an interest in Bethel Camp. (Yes, we’ll be living there for at least another year and a half, and we would thoroughly enjoy the air conditioning, but it would also benefit everyone who lives there after us. It’s not an entirely selfish request.)
He mentioned a family who he thought might be interested, and I asked him if they have money. His answer cracked me up.
“Yeah, they’ve got money. They’re Mennonites.”
The don’t look like it…. they don’t live like it…. but they’ve got it.
